One of the leading luxury trains in the world, the Maharajas’ Express has added another feather in its cap by winning the 2016 Seven Star Luxury Hospitality and Lifestyle Awards at Marbella in Spain. The train is owned as well as operated by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
Maharajas’ Express once again wins Seven Star Luxury Hospitality and Lifestyle Award….
This luxury train of India has won several awards and accolades in the past too. At the event, the award was by received by Dr. A K Manocha, IRCTC Chairman and Managing Director, in the ‘Seven Star Experience Sector’. The function was organized at the Villa Padierna Hotel in Marbella.
According to the ritual, along with the award, the “Signum Virtutis”, the seal of Excellence, was also presented to the Maharajas’ Express by the Seven Star Luxury Hospitality and Lifestyle Awards.
Dr. Manocha said, “I am absolutely thrilled to receive the prestigious award for the Maharajas’ Express which boasts of incredible grandeur, top rate cuisines and unmatched hospitality. It is also a testament to the international appeal of the train, which offers to its valued guests an experiential journey into the bygone era of imperial India.”
In addition to this award, this Indian luxury train was also voted as “The World’s Leading Luxury Train” at The World Travel Awards continuously for four years, in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015. It was also adjudged the ‘Best Luxury Train’ at CNBC Awaaz Travel Award in 2010 and was the 1st runner- up prizewinner in the Specialist Train Operators Category award at Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Travel Award in the year 2011.
The inaugural journey of the Maharajas’ Express was in the year 2010 and it won an award in the same year. Currently the train has 23 coaches and offers 5 journeys with options of 7 Nights/8 Days and 3 Nights/4 Days itineraries. Some of the best destinations of India that one gets to explore include places like Jaipur, Agra, Lucknow, Varanasi, Bikaner, Ranthambore, Gwalior, Udaipur, Ajanta, Balasinor and Khajuraho.
